About Us
The staff at TRS has an average of 20 years experience in the
Telecom industry working for OEM's, Carriers and supply
companies. Our staff is committed to understanding our
customer's needs and exceeding their expectations by creatively
approaching each opportunity and carefully devising a low cost
solution. We understand that there is no off the shelf answer
to any one challenge, so we bring flexibility along with our
experience to our customers and collectively find the solution.
Executive Bios
David Gualco - President and
Co-Founder Mr. Gualco is one of the founders of TRS
and began the company by utilizing his 21 years of experience
in telecommunication engineering, component level testing and
repair. Mr. Gualco has worked has way through virtually
every technology in the Telecom industry including Wireline,
Wireless and Data.
Prior to the beginning of TRS, Mr. Gualco ran the re-work
and distribution depot of Nortel Networks/Bay Network
remarking division in Sunnyvale, California. In Dallas, Texas, he managed the
repair, E&I and distribution for Southwestern Bell,
Sprint, Pacific Bell, GTE, Airtouch, AT&T wireless and
Primeco. Additionally, Mr. Gualco's team became the OEM
repair facility for Fujitsu and PairGain.
Robert O'Leary - VP Sales and Business
Development and Co-Founder Mr. O'Leary brings over
12 years of technology focused sales, account management and
business development experience to TRS. Most recently, after
two years of providing a range of new and refurbished
equipment to dozens of Tier 1, 2 and 3 wireless carriers, he
saw an opportunity to merge his hardware and distribution
knowledge with the technology centric foundations of TRS.
Mr. O'Leary previously started or invested in multiple
companies such as Gifttracker.com and Kids Klub Pasadena and
part of a founding team at idealab! under Bill Gross, where
the company raised multiple rounds of financing before the
company's software product was sold in 2001. While with
IBM in their Global Services Division, Mr. O'Leary also
provided supply chain integration consulting to Fortune 1000
companies such as Mattel and Suzuki Motors.
Mr. O'Leary has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from
Bucknell University and an MBA in Finance from the University
of Southern California where he was commencement speaker for
his graduating class.
John O'Brien – Operations
Manager John O'Brien is the Operations Manager for
TRS. In this role, Mr. O'Brien supervises all operational
activities and maintains customer relations with AT & T
wireless and numerous other Telecom customers. He brings to
TRS 13 years of Telecom Operational experience.
Prior to joining TRS, Mr. O'Brien was a key figure in the
implementation of PacBell's PACE project throughout the state
of California. This included bar coding and scanning of all
plug-ins in the Pacific Bell Central Offices. For his
achievements on the project, Mr. O'Brien received an award
from Pacific Bell for his leadership role. Additionally, Mr.
O'Brien was the Operations Manager in Fremont California
overseeing all internal operational functions of the repair
and distribution of PacBell wire line equipment with a focus
on Turnaround time and overall performance. He then moved on
to the Sunnyvale California Nortel Networks / Bay Networks
distribution and repair facility. Along with overseeing the
Pacific Bell operations, he also managed all internal
operational functions and the distribution of product to
Nortel end user customers. Mr. O'Brien then moved on to become
a Project Manager in the Nortel Division with a focus on
distribution and performance in Oakville and Argentia Ontario
Canada. In 2001, Mr. O'Brien was the Project Manager in Aurora
Colorado overseeing the Qwest Wire Line repair and
distribution process with focus on turnaround time and overall
performance. During his time in Colorado, he also implemented
the Motorola Next Level and the Qwest TechTAD repair and
logistics projects.
Joseph Kennedy - Senior Engineer Mr. Kennedy brings over 9 years of
technical and engineering experience to TRS. He previously was
Technical Manager with Somera Communications, a major
telecommunications re-use company.
While with Somera Communications, Mr. Kennedy ran large
projects for ATT Wireless to include national power equipment
redeployment, refurbishment and testing; national migration of
leased T1 lines to spread-spectrum microwave, to include
designing, building & deploying custom engineered outdoor
microwave enclosures. Mr. Kennedy has also provided custom
engineering solutions to select Verizon and Cingular markets.
Mr. Kennedy has also managed test bed development and
implementation for systems to include Ericsson RBS2206, 2202
and 2302 GSM, Nortel 800DR and 1900 TDMA, Nortel DMX
switching, Ericsson 882 & 884 cellular systems, Tellabs
Titan 5500 DACS, power systems by Marconi, Ericsson, Astec
& Argus, and Motorola CDMA & Analog Cellular
systems.
Mr. Kennedy is a US Army veteran and attended University of
California, Santa Barbara.
